Festival Dance will host an International GALA event to support youth arts programs Friday, March 30th at the 1912 Center, 7:30 p.m. . Enjoy performances by Nez Perce Youth Dancers, Irish Dancing, African dance and drumming and more as well as desserts and silent auction. Complimentary copies of the first , very unique Artisan Trail Guide will be available . Celebrate climate change activism with Wild Idaho Rising Tide on March 31st . The evening will start at 7 p.m. in Friendship Square with a parade through downtown Moscow lead by the Peace Band. Donation of $5 at the door of the 1912 Center gets you an evening of pot-luck food , no-host bar, music by Jeanne McHale and friends and dancing to Corn Mash. “Art on the Palouse” will be the topic of discussion at the April 4th Moscow League of Women Voter’s noon meeting. Kathleen Burns form Moscow Arts Commission will speak along with Palouse Women Artist’s Laurel MacDonald and Leslee Miller from the Dahmen Barn. The meeting is in the Fiske Room of the 1912 Center, and open to the public.
Celebrate Native American culture at the 13th annual Tutxinmepu Pow Wow . This event, traditionally held on the Palouse is sponsored by the University of Idaho Native American Student Center. Dancing and drumming events will be held on Saturday and Sunday April 7th and 8th at the Moscow Junior High School gym . Plan to attend the Grand Entries at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, and Sunday at 1p.m. The Pow Wow is free and open to the community. Call Steven Martin at 208-885-4237 for more information.
The 64th annual University of Idaho Borah Symposium is happening April 9, 10 and 11th. This year’s event will explore “Food and War: Cultivating Peace”. Keynote speakers: Raj Patel, and Dr. Vandana Shiva will discuss the connections between hunger, population, sustainability and war and peace . This is event is free.

Palouse Patchers will hold their 32nd Annual Quilt Show “Color Made Beautiful” on Saturday April 14th from noon to 4 p.m. at the Latah County Fairgrounds Exhibition Building. Young People’s Arts Festival will happen on Saturday April 14th from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Moscow Junior High School for kids ages pre-K to grade 6. Registration packets are available at Moscow City Hall or call 208-883-7036. Cost is 15$ for a half-day and $30 for full day of arts activities.

The Paloma Institute invites you to the 3rd annual Breakfast for Haiti Sunday, March 25th from 9 a.m. to noon at the 1912 Center. This event supports the “Framing is Life” project that provides seeds, tools and education for sustainable agriculture for the people on the island of LaGonave, Haiti. The Moscow League of Women Voters will meet on Wednesday March 28th at noon to hear Mayor Nancy Chaney give an Update on the League’s Study of Poverty on the Palouse. The meeting is open to the public, in the Fiske room of the 1912 Center.

Second Chance is hosting a Doggy Egg Hunt on Saturday March 31st at Sunnyside Park in Pullman at 10 a.m. to benefit their Spring Spay and Neuter program. Second Chance is a non-profit organization to help low income families in rural Idaho and Washington with spay/neuter bills and offer free pet food and dog houses to animal in need.
